We’re looking for a motivated graduate to join our Newcastle team as a Graduate Sustainability Engineer. This is more than just a job – it’s a chance to join a collaborative, forward-thinking engineering consultancy committed to delivering smarter, greener and more resilient buildings.

Responsibilities

In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers across a broad range of projects, gaining hands-on experience at the intersection of sustainability, building physics and building services engineering. From day one, you’ll contribute to the delivery of low-energy design solutions, support work on leading sustainability standards such as BREEAM, WELL and LEED, and use advanced thermal and environmental modelling tools to assess building performance and inform design decisions.

Your responsibilities will include preparing sustainability statements for planning submissions, supporting energy and carbon assessments, contributing to feasibility studies, and helping to evaluate the performance of mechanical and electrical systems within sustainable design strategies. This is a truly generalist engineering role, offering exposure to multiple aspects of MEP design, building performance modelling, environmental assessment and sustainable design consultancy – ideal for someone who wants to build a strong, well-rounded engineering foundation.

Qualifications

We’re seeking someone with a relevant degree in engineering, building services, sustainability, environmental design or a related field, who can combine analytical thinking with a collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for creating better, more sustainable buildings. You should be comfortable using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office and keen to develop your skills in modelling software and wider engineering tools.

Working at Our Company

In return, you’ll join an inclusive and supportive team built on values of accountability, integrity and technical excellence. You’ll benefit from structured mentoring, continuous professional development, and opportunities to work toward professional accreditation in sustainability and building services engineering. You’ll also gain exposure to industry-leading projects, a clear route for career progression, and a workplace culture that celebrates innovation, engineering rigour and success.

Please note: This role is based in our Newcastle office, with a planned start date of September 2026, although an earlier start may be possible.

If you’re ready to make an impact, grow your engineering expertise and help shape the future of sustainable construction, we’d love to hear from you.
