Graduate Financial Research Analyst – September 2026

Megabuyte is recruiting ambitious final-year students and recent graduates to join our team as Financial Research Analysts in September 2026. This is a great opportunity to develop your analytical skills, work alongside industry experts, and contribute to our research on the B2B technology sector. The role is based at our Reading office with some working from home options.

About the role...what you can expect

Become an outstanding analyst

Supported by close mentorship and our Analyst Academy, you will develop the fundamental skills of a Megabuyte analyst, including modelling company accounts, analysing corporate transactions, writing a range of research and building CEO relationships.

Become a highly regarded sector expert

Once you have mastered the fundamentals, you will apply and grow your analyst skills in a particular market area. This will involve leading conversations with CEOs, writing in-depth research and distilling complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for our investor, adviser and corporate clients.

…and the skills you'll develop

• Financial analysis – Studying and interpreting company accounts, corporate transactions and valuation metrics.

• Written research – Investigating and writing a range of research from short news-driven analysis through to in-depth market reports.

• Research coverage expansion – Take responsibility for growing our research coverage within a defined market segment.

• Growing CEO relationships – Building and maintaining a network of CEOs to enhance our research.

• Supporting consultancy projects – Work with Senior Analysts on M&A and due diligence engagements.

What we look for in Graduates:

• Currently studying towards a numerate degree (e.g. finance, economics, maths, engineering or the sciences).

• A curious and analytical mindset with the ability to break down complex information and communicate it clearly.

• Excellent writing skills, underpinned by a thorough understanding of grammar, syntax and spelling.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills appropriate to the level of interaction required with seasoned CEOs and other senior executives.

• A proactive and well-organised approach, with the ability to work independently and manage deadlines.

• Enthusiasm for financial analysis, market research, and understanding company dynamics.

• Great Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel.

• An understanding of company accounts is an advantage but not essential.

Our recruitment process has two stages. The first is a virtual interview with a senior member of the team, where you will learn more about the company and role while we assess your suitability and aptitude.

Successful candidates will then be invited to attend an in-person assessment day at Megabuyte’s Reading office. This will include:

• A second formal interview with members of the senior team

• A written and Excel-based assessment

• A group project

Assessment days will take place on 8 April and 15 April 2026. Shortlisted candidates will be allocated one of these dates.
