We’ve just moved into a new office in Edinburgh Park as we expand our European Headquarters, so we’re seeking a talented Graduate Firmware Engineer to help support the expansion of our product portfolio.
Position Overview
Reporting to the R&D Project Manager, candidates will be given the opportunity to contribute to the architecture and design of FPGA sub-systems within Lumacron’s flagship network monitoring products and will be responsible for the design, implementation, and verification of parts of the design. The role is multi-disciplinary and includes the development of FPGA IP Cores, full FPGA System-on-Chip RTL designs, and verification test benches. Support and mentoring will be given to integrate the candidate into the team and provide ongoing career development.
Responsibilities
- Knowledge of designing FPGA IP cores or sub-systems
- Knowledge of VHDL/Verilog HDL languages for FPGA design
- Ability to work to tight timescales, individually and collaboratively
- Ability to comply with UK GOV National Security Vetting Procedures
Basic Qualifications
- Qualified to degree level in electronic engineering, computer science or equivalent discipline
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience of the following:
- Design with AMD/Intel FPGA and CPLD devices
- Designing (code entry to timing analysis) using Intel and/or Xilinx FPGA tool sets
- Designing for high-speed optical interfaces
- Experience developing software / embedded software
- Knowledge of Packet Networking/Telecommunications/Data Communication
