Position Summary
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within the Hardware Engineering team based in Dundee. This is a multi-discipline team developing and supporting complex Mechatronic devices used in banking machines (ATMs) that are deployed worldwide.
We are seeking a Graduate Test Engineer who will work as part of a cross-functional design team on development projects that deliver new devices and improvements for our 24/7 high availability solutions.
The role will involve the planning and execution of testing and the analysis and reporting of results using the latest technology and data-driven continuous improvement principles. Basic hands-on mechanical and electronics skills would be advantageous to assist in the setup and build of rigs.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated team player able to demonstrate good analytical and problem-solving skills, understand the importance of attention to detail, and have excellent written and spoken communication skills.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Test planning and execution
- Data analysis and reporting (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.)
- Statistical analysis
- Electromechanical systems
- National Instruments LabVIEW software
- Basic mechanical and electronics practical skills (assembly, soldering, etc.)
- Basic understanding of motors, sensors and control
- Basic understanding of software testing and scripting
Qualifications
- Degree in one of the following engineering disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Computing/Software, Physics, or related subject
- Relevant work experience in a similar engineering role would be an advantage
Key Responsibilities
With the support and mentoring from our senior engineers:
- Develop and execute test plans for the evaluation of early design concepts
- Capture, analysis, and reporting of test data and results
- Setup and build of concept test rigs to support rapid development cycles
- Support the efficient production, test, qualification, and integration of new designs
- Undertake testing and debugging of our design, ensuring that the design meets the design specification
- Provide support on product design issues and product improvement (including engineering design, documentation, and configuration control)
