Description
As a Graduate IT Engineer at Systal, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the company's internal IT systems, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations for all staff. This role focuses on end-user support, system administration, and infrastructure maintenance. While networking is not a core responsibility, foundational knowledge is considered desirable.
Key Responsibilities
End-User Support
- Provide 1st to 3rd line support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to hardware, software, and user access.
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding processes including device setup and account provisioning.
System Administration
- Manage and maintain Windows-based systems including user accounts, permissions, and policies.
- Administer Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
- Perform routine updates, patching, and system health checks.
- Experience with Linux-based systems would be advantageous.
Device & Asset Management
- Deploy and configure new hardware and software for internal users.
- Maintain accurate inventory of IT assets and ensure lifecycle management.
- Support and manage Apple and Android mobile devices, including MDM solutions.
Security & Compliance
- Enforce endpoint protection policies and monitor for security alerts.
- Support compliance with internal IT policies and external regulations (e.g., Cyber Essentials, ISO27001).
- Assist with audits and documentation of IT procedures.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Create and maintain internal documentation for systems and support procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve IT processes and user experience.
Key Requirements
Proficiency in:
- Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 suite
- Active Directory & Group Policy
- Device imaging and deployment tools (e.g., Intune, Autopilot)
- Endpoint protection and patch management
- Apple and Android mobile device support and management
- Basic PowerShell scripting for automation
Experience with:
- Service desk platforms (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira)
- Remote support tools (e.g., TeamViewer, AnyDesk)
- Software deployment and license management
Desirable Knowledge:
- Basic networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, DNS, VPNs)
- Linux-based system administration
