About Simpson Travel
Simpson Travel is an award-winning specialist tour operator curating exceptional villa and boutique hotel holidays across some of the Mediterranean’s most beautiful destinations.
Since 2002, our reputation has been built around the quality of our hand-picked properties, first-hand destination knowledge and highly personalised service. We believe the details make the difference – both in the holidays we create and the way we communicate with our guests.
We’re now looking for a bright, enthusiastic Junior Marketing Executive to join our team.
The opportunity
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated graduate or someone at the beginning of their marketing career who wants to learn – and get involved in – the full marketing mix.
Rather than being confined to one discipline, you’ll work alongside the wider Marketing team across paid media, CRM, social media, content and copywriting, SEO/AIO, video, influencer marketing, partnerships, campaign delivery and performance reporting.
It’s a varied, hands-on role where no two weeks will look quite the same. One day you might be helping create video content for Instagram, the next supporting a paid advertising campaign, building customer segments in HubSpot, writing an SEO-optimised travel blog or adding a luxurious new property to our website.
You’ll also learn how we measure marketing effectiveness – understanding the KPIs behind different channels and campaigns and how our marketing activity contributes to bookings, revenue and return on investment.
You’ll be encouraged to bring ideas to the table from day one, while learning from experienced colleagues across the team.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll support the Marketing team across a broad range of activity, including:
-
CRM & customer marketing: Learn to use HubSpot to understand and segment our customer database, helping us deliver relevant, targeted communications to different audiences and customer groups.
-
Social media: Contribute relevant ideas and content for engaging posts across our social channels, keeping an eye on emerging formats, trends and opportunities.
-
Content creation & copywriting: Develop your understanding of the brand tone of voice, to allow you to write and adapt engaging copy for emails, website content, campaigns and other marketing communications.
-
Website amends: Assist with website updates and amendments, collaborating with both product and overseas teams to ensure accuracy of information, aligned with commercial priorities of the business.
-
Blog, SEO & AIO: Research and suggest useful, inspiring travel content for the Simpson Travel blog, learning how to optimise this for traditional search engines as well as AI-powered search and discovery.
-
Video & creative content: Help turn our extensive library of destination and property content into engaging short-form video, reels and other digital assets.
-
Paid media: Support the planning, creation and monitoring of paid social and digital advertising campaigns, learning how creative, audiences, targeting, spend and performance work together.
-
Influencers & creators: Research relevant creators, help coordinate collaborations and support the delivery of influencer campaigns from initial outreach through to content going live.
-
Partnerships: Help identify and develop opportunities to work with complementary brands and partners that can introduce Simpson Travel to new audiences.
-
Campaigns: Support integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, helping ensure activity is delivered accurately and on time.
-
Reporting, KPIs & ROI: Help build and maintain clear marketing reporting, tracking relevant KPIs across campaigns and channels. You’ll learn how to interpret results, identify actionable insights and demonstrate the measurable return generated by our marketing activity.
-
Competitor & trend research: Keep an eye on what’s happening across travel, luxury, lifestyle, search, AI and digital marketing and share interesting ideas with the team.
And, importantly, be willing to get stuck in wherever needed. We’re a collaborative team and some of the best ideas don’t fit neatly into a job description.
About you
We’re not expecting you to arrive knowing everything. We’re much more interested in finding someone with curiosity, creativity, commercial awareness and the motivation to learn.
You might be a recent graduate, or perhaps you’ve already gained some experience through an internship, placement, personal project or your first marketing role.
You’ll ideally be:
-
Genuinely interested in marketing, brands, social media and content
-
A confident communicator with excellent written English and a good eye for detail
-
Creative and full of ideas, but equally interested in data and understanding what works
-
Comfortable working with numbers and keen to understand the commercial impact of marketing activity
-
Interested in creating and editing short-form video content
-
Curious about search, SEO and the rapidly evolving role of AI in how people discover brands and content
-
Comfortable learning new digital tools, CRM systems and platforms
-
Organised and able to manage several projects and deadlines at once
-
Curious about new marketing trends, creators, brands and technology
-
Collaborative, proactive and happy to get involved
Excited by travel and the opportunity to market beautiful destinations and experiences
Experience with tools such as Canva, CapCut, Adobe Creative Suite or similar editing software would be useful, but isn’t essential. Likewise, any exposure to HubSpot or another CRM, Google Analytics, Paid Social, Google Ads, SEO or email marketing would be a bonus rather than a requirement.
What you’ll learn
We want this role to be a genuine launchpad for a career in marketing.
Working closely with specialists across the team, you’ll gain practical experience across the marketing mix and develop an understanding not only of how great marketing is created, but how it is targeted, measured and optimised to deliver commercial results.
You’ll have the opportunity to build skills across:
-
Paid Media
-
CRM & Segmentation
-
Social Media
-
Content Marketing
-
SEO & AIO
-
Copywriting
-
Video
-
Influencer Marketing
-
Partnerships
-
Campaign Management
-
Analytics
-
KPI Reporting
-
ROI Measurement
-
Brand Marketing
You’ll learn how these disciplines work together: from identifying the right audience and creating content that inspires them, through to driving action and measuring the resulting commercial impact.
As your experience and confidence grow, so will your ownership of projects and campaigns.
