If you enter a graduate scheme, you’ll spend 2 years experiencing hands on training and development on different projects - some of which rotate depending on the division you’re working with and could also include an industrial placement abroad!

If you join a specific role, your growth and development will be tailored to that role, empowering you to succeed.

Whichever way you join Dstl, you’ll benefit from working with experienced peers as well as each other. Your learning and development don’t stop after 2 years - we’ll encourage you to grow through mentorships, chartered programmes and accreditations.

If you impress us enough with your talents during your placement, we could offer you a sponsorship opportunity. This means we will pay towards the remainder of your studies, and you will be fast-tracked to the interview stage of a graduate opportunity when you finish your degree.

What we look for

We mainly look for science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) graduates who also have a positive and enthusiastic attitude (if you’ve already graduated, we can sometimes arrange an earlier start date too, depending on the role).

If you’ve not studied a STEM subject, but you’re a computer science hobby-ist, can code or have technical skills, we still want to hear from you. Just highlight this in your application!
