About the Role
The Graduate Project Development Advisor (Alumni Records) will support key strategic projects within the Alumni Records Office aimed at improving student experience, strengthening digital record-keeping processes, and developing high-quality resources. The role provides cross-department collaboration and opportunities to contribute to long-term service improvements which will have a positive impact on all future BSU graduates.
The graduate will be involved in enhancing the user experience of the new Digital Certificates system. This includes producing student and third-party facing user multimedia guides, supporting the review of existing certificate and record-keeping processes, and working with Information Governance and the Alumni teams contributing to record retention approaches and communications. They will also contribute to the “Preparing for Graduation” Communications Project, coordinating an information package for final-year students, drawing on their recent experiences. This would involve consolidating essential information from IT, Alumni, Careers, and Graduation event team. The graduate will also act as a contributing member of the Graduate Outcomes Survey (GOS) Task Force, maintaining regular contact with the Graduate Success Team.
In addition to the project work, the graduate will be supporting the Alumni Records Office’s daily operational activities, which will further help them to contribute to development and enhancements. The Alumni Records Office sits within the Assessments & Progression team of Student & Registry Services, so the graduate will be supported by a dynamic, diverse team that values open communication and ideas.
(This is an 18 Month Full-Time Fixed Term Role)
About You
The ideal graduate will have a strong working knowledge of core IT applications and digital tools, alongside clear and confident written and verbal communication skills essential for producing resources and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders. They should demonstrate the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, managing their own workload effectively and remaining highly organized when working to tight deadlines. Strong attention to detail, the ability to monitor progress, and confidence in escalating issues appropriately are also important. The role requires someone who can build positive working relationships at all levels, approach problem-solving proactively, and contribute new ideas that support service improvements.
- Ability to problem solve and to recommend enhancements
- Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience of working effectively in a team
- Experience of managing a busy workload under pressure
