We’re difference makers. We’re Europe’s leading design, engineering, environment, and regulatory consultancy. We’re now recruiting for the November 2026 cohort of our Early Careers Graduate Scheme.

Who are we looking for?

We’re seeking passionate, forward-thinking graduates who strive to make a difference and thrive in a dynamic team environment. We provide the support and opportunities you need to develop and achieve your career goals. Uniquely, we recruit-to role – and right now we’re looking for a Graduate Sustainability Design Consultant to join our innovative Building Services division. Given Sweco’s global recognition as a successful Building Services Consultant, and our history of delivering the world’s most sustainable buildings such as the Bloomberg European headquarters and achieving the highest ever BREEAM score, we’d like to hear from graduates that share our ethos and values but are driven to truly transform the world around them.

You'll support the delivery of building sustainability and environmental design services within the Building Sustainability team, with a particular focus on façade optimisation, overheating risk assessment, dynamic thermal modelling, daylight and sunlight analysis and Building Regulations Part L Compliance. The role is suitable for candidates with education in architectural design.

As a Graduate Sustainability Design Consultant you will:

  • Undertake building environmental design studies in collaboration with the energy team.
  • Engage with internal and external project stakeholders at concept design stage to support sustainability-led design development.
  • Collect, review and organise information required for dynamic thermal modelling and environment comfort assessments.
  • Carry out dynamic modelling studies, including:
    • façade optimisation for energy efficiency
    • overheating risk assessments in line with CIBSE TM52 and TM59
    • daylight and sunlight calculations
  • Support Building Regulations Part L compliance calculations and associated documentation.
  • Support BREEAM Certification credits and evidence collection.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports covering energy, sustainability, and circular economy considerations.
  • Identify and recommend improvements to design solutions and internal processes, and share learning through knowledge management channels.
  • Support the preparation of bid proposals and environmental studies for competition and tender work with architects and other design partners.

What do you need to apply?

We want to hear from graduates who:

  • Have a degree relevant to the role you’re applying for (ideally Architecture, Building Physics or Building Services Engineering or a closely related discipline).
  • Basic to intermediate skills on CAD packages; preferred AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Have the ability to handle data and reporting in clear structure of output.
  • Have less than 12 months of relevant work experience (excluding placements).
  • Are confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint).
  • Are driven, proactive, and solution-oriented.
  • Can work in the UK without restrictions either now or in the future. This is a permanent role, and we’re looking for candidates who can grow their careers with Sweco without a time limit.

What’s in it for you?

This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise and professional experience within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment. The successful candidate will receive guidance and support to build capability in building sustainability, performance analysis, and client-facing project delivery. The role sits within our dedicated modelling group which consists of team members with Architectural background and specialise in supporting building design for sustainability outcomes such as reducing energy demand, improving daylighting balanced with view out and reduce overheating.

Our Graduate Scheme offers a two-year blended learning experience, with a tailored programme delivered virtually and face-to-face. You’ll have the chance to network and grow with the 2026 cohort. Personal growth will be supported by our Early Careers team, mentors, and subject matter experts from across the business.
