We are seeking to appoint three Graduate Technicians, skilled in fashion design/garment construction, to provide customer-focused technical support within our Fashion studios. The successful post-holders will also be supporting the core activities of the colleagues and students at the Westminster School of Arts and will be joining a dynamic team of four highly skilled technicians.

These roles are based in our Harrow campus and role holders are expected to work alternate Saturdays.

The post holders' main responsibilities will be supervising students during open access hours, monitoring our specialist machine room, and completing small sewing tasks such as buttonholes for students. Post holders will also assist in compliance with health and safety regulations throughout the fashion spaces and report any concerns back to senior members of staff. Other key responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the technical team with preparing materials for workshops including the creation of additional learning materials like step-by-step handouts, maintaining equipment, and facilitating the running of our digital plotting service. Please refer to the Candidate Pack for full details regarding the responsibilities of the role.

The successful applicant will be a recent Fashion Design graduate at either an undergraduate or postgraduate level. They should demonstrate a strong interest in garment construction and proficiency with basic flatbed sewing machines and overlockers as well as an interest in digital fashion design. As this role involves assisting students, candidates must be reliable, professional, and possess strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and contribute to an inclusive team environment.
