Graduate Trainee Management Accountant

Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Graduate Trainee Management Accountant, based in South Manchester. The Graduate will work in close partnership with the Group Financial Controller to support the effective management of the Group’s finances. The role involves producing management accounts, overseeing reconciliation of activity, maintaining robust accounting systems and processing payroll. The post holder will also assist with the preparation of forecasts and ensure compliance with all relevant financial legislation and regulations. As a key member of the finance function, the Graduate will contribute to the delivery of accurate, timely financial information to support the organisation’s strategic and operational objectives.
The Graduate will study for the CIMA qualification alongside work responsibilities. The role will provide a broad and valuable accounting and finance experience which will complement the CIMA studies to give a strong and robust financial training.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

Processing and managing supplier invoices and staff expenses, ensuring accurate coding and allocation of costs.

Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.
-
Preparing and processing supplier payments, ensuring timely and accurate payments.

Responsibility for the end-to-end month end accounting,
-
Monthly payroll processing for the Group.
-
Conducting detailed revenue, gross profit and overhead analysis, producing reports for senior stakeholders.

Assisting with audit queries, year-end processes and ad hoc analysis/reporting for senior management.

Assisting the Group Finance Controller.
Qualifications/Skills
-
Degree: Achieved (or on course to achieve by July 2026) a minimum of a 2:1 degree (Upper Second Class Honours) in Accounting & Finance or similar.

A Level or equivalent: Minimum of AAB.
-
GCSE or equivalent: Minimum of 8 grade 6-9, including grade 7 or above in both Mathematics and English.

Great technical knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, current accounting requirements, standards and policies.

Advanced Excel skills, with the ability to analyse and present complex data effectively.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to business partner across teams.

Highly organised with outstanding attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.

Proactive and self-motivated, able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
-
Resilient under pressure, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a changeable environment.
