Inshes Vets is a wonderful practice based in Inverness, the Jewel of the Highlands. A beautiful city, not too big or small, means there are lots of clubs and sporting events to peak everyone's interests. We have mountains, rivers, and beaches all on our doorstep so you can easily enjoy the amazing world-famous Highland scenery. Fancy some Dolphin watching - we've got that too. We have great transport links to UK hubs as well as to Europe. If you fancy a night out, then Eden Court Theatre has visits from many shows and comedians. Combine this with some dining at our excellent local restaurants where local produce is proudly displayed. Highland Life has it all!

Our Team

We are a team together. We celebrate and commiserate with each other. We work hard but we equally understand time off is needed and sharing the workload and support of our colleagues is vital. We have a weekly Friday meeting as well as our Practice WhatsApp group to keep everyone up to date. We regularly have in-house Lunch and Learns as well as Domino’s Pizza Lunches! Currently, we have 9 Vets and 9 Nurses, as well as one certified AVP. We also have members of the team interested in Cardiology and Medicine.

We're armed with cutting-edge tools for your success. From DR X-ray, Ultrasound, Laparoscopy, Cryotherapy, Dental IM3 machine and X-ray, Gastroscope, Otoscope and so much more. Enjoy a welcoming environment with structured support and flexibility to suit your lifestyle.

Work Schedule

You will work 40 hours per week. We all work various shift patterns ranging between 8am-10am starts. Late night finishes at 8pm (consults finish at 7pm). We now have a separate OOH service which you are welcome to shadow in order to gain experience. We also share a rota of Saturday Mornings 9am - 1pm and get long weekends in return, with corresponding Fridays off. With shorter shifts in the day, we enjoy a nice work-life balance to make the most of living in the Highlands.

Support and Career Growth

You will be supported by our large, very friendly team and being single site allows plenty of staff around to support any questions or issues that may arise. We have supported many new graduates over the years and we have multiple Vet GDP advisors on hand to support and offer advice if and when needed.
