About the Role

Ready to make a real impact on worker wellbeing and the future of energy? At EDF, Success is Personal. Join our Health and Safety Industrial Placement and help protect the health of those building the UK’s first-of-a-generation nuclear power station – while launching your own career in a business that’s helping Britain achieve net zero.

The Opportunity

This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £24,500 and the chance to work at #Bridgwater on the Hinkley Point C construction site – the largest construction project in Europe.

You’ll be part of our Mechanical, Electrical and HVAC Alliance Health and Safety Programme, gaining hands-on experience in occupational hygiene, health, and analysis to support site risk management. From identifying exposure risks to supporting hazard control strategies, you’ll contribute to safer working environments and develop technical and analytical skills that will shape your future career.

What You’ll Be Doing

During your Health and Safety Industrial Placement, you’ll work alongside experienced professionals to assess and manage health risks in construction. Past students have helped monitor dust and fume levels, supported noise assessments, and contributed to chemical safety reviews across major infrastructure projects.

This placement offers practical learning in a professional environment, supported by mentors and collaborative teams. You’ll apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges while completing degree-relevant modules and gaining insight into occupational hygiene within the energy sector.

Your Work Location

You’ll be based at the #Bridgwater Hinkley Point C construction site, where you’ll be immersed in a progressive and safety-focused environment. This location offers a unique opportunity to contribute to one of the UK’s most significant energy projects.
