Job description

We have an amazing opportunity for an exceptional individual with strong leadership skills to join our Hearings Team as a Hearings Team Manager.

You will be responsible for leading, motivating and managing a team who work to deliver a high volume of hearings. Central to the success in this role is building a strong team ethos and providing support and guidance to ensure the team delivers quality, timely and appropriate volumes of work. You will work effectively within a team and with your peers, to build and maintain positive relationships across a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver excellent customer service and support all hearings participants.

Purpose and Main Duties

  • Effectively prioritising and managing work and hearings, ensuring the best use of available resources to meet business needs and identifying future resource requirements.
  • Managing and leading the performance of the team by ensuring sufficient support, guidance and direction is provided and that human resource issues and any poor performance is managed quickly and effectively.
  • Controlling hearing risks through the undertaking of appropriate checks at all stages of the process, making recommendations and escalating high-risk hearings to Operational Managers.
  • Supporting the Operational Manager to promote and embed within the team a culture of continuous improvement and values that are consistent with the HCPC values.
  • Managing and motivating direct reports by providing direction and setting clear objectives and behaviours through effective performance reviews. Assuring and being accountable for the quality of your team’s work.

Candidate Requirements

You will have experience of managing a team and ensuring high performance through coaching and support. You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to work strategically and collaboratively to deliver shared objectives. You will have an understanding of healthcare regulation and experience of working within a framework of legislation and applying policies and guidance.
