This is a chance to gain meaningful, hands-on experience, build confidence, and take those all-important first steps toward a bright and successful future.
These placements are for recent graduates or students on a “year in industry,” ready to apply their knowledge and grow with us.
Role Details
Role: History & Heritage Internship
Duration: 10-11 months
Department: Stadium Experience & Fan Engagement
Location: STŌK Cae Ras Stadium, Wrexham
The Role
Wrexham AFC, one of the world’s oldest football clubs, offers an internship in sports heritage, research, and storytelling. The History & Heritage Intern will assist the Club Historian in preserving and sharing the club’s history.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist with organising and cataloguing historical club materials
- Help record and document memorabilia, photographs, and historical records
- Research key moments, players, matches, and seasons in club history
- Assist with responding to historical enquiries
- Help prepare historical content for matchday programmes or club platforms
- Help collect stories and memories from supporters, former players, and staff
- Support projects that capture the social and cultural history of the club
About You
You'll Have
- A strong interest in history and heritage
- Organisational skills, attention to detail, and good research and writing skills
- An interest in football, sport, or community heritage
Candidate Profile
This internship would suit students studying History, Heritage Studies, Cultural Studies, or Public History.
