£25,000 - £30,000

We are looking for a Japanese, Korean or Chinese-speaking candidate to join our London office for a 3-6 month paid internship or research position, on either a full-time or part-time basis. The salary is £27,000 per annum pro rata, with the potential for a permanent offer at the end of the term.

In this position, you will get a broad exposure to investigative research, report writing and an array of other tasks, which will include:

  • Working directly with partners and senior members of research team, helping them undertake in-depth open source research into companies, individuals, sectors, and topics of interest to our clients.
  • Draft memoranda and reports in support of assignments.
  • Contribute to the development and communication of proposals and advice to current and prospective clients.
  • Ensure quality of client deliverables by having keen attention to detail and a very high standard of written English.
  • Support marketing and business development efforts by conducting ad-hoc research.

The role will be based at our office in Southeast London, with hybrid and remote options available after an initial training period. The start date is changeable.

What we are looking for

The successful candidate will be fluent in Japanese, Korean or Chinese (C1 or C2) and have a very high standard of written and spoken English - much of the work will involve writing detailed reports in English.

You should be interested in business, politics (especially around financial crime and corruption issues), have an investigative mindset, be organised and have an excellent eye for detail. Candidates should be critical and independent thinkers, have an interest in solving problems and have the ability to prioritise tasks and work on multiple assignments. While we are not looking for any particular academic background, candidates with degrees in law, history, languages, humanities and other research-intensive subjects are welcome.

How to apply

You can send your application (CV and a writing sample) via email to us. Given the volume of applications, we only respond to shortlisted candidates.

Please note that you will only be considered if you have the Right to Work in the UK by the start of your employment.
