About The Team

You’ll be joining our JD Star Graduate Pathway, designed to give early-career talent hands-on experience as a Data Engineer working in our new Technology Centre in London, supporting the building and improvement of our Retail Platforms. We value curiosity, collaboration, and the confidence to take ownership in a fast-moving environment, helping you build real skills and make a real impact from day one.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the architecture design and modeling of the company's data warehouse.
  • Organize data warehouse development, perform data mining based on the data warehouse to discover patterns in data, or apply and build mathematical algorithms to uncover data insights.
  • Conduct in-depth data mining leveraging massive data resources to empower rapid business growth and maximize data value.
  • Understand business requirements, establish reliable data collection, distribution, and processing platforms, and participate in the design and development of offline/real-time data warehouses and pipelines.

About You

We're looking for the brightest of minds to join our Tech Engineering team, here's who we're looking for:

  • Master’s degree or above in related academic area. Exceptionally qualified undergraduate candidates may also be considered.
  • Passionate about big data processing and related technologies, with the initiative to follow the latest technological advancements.
  • Solid foundation in computer science fundamentals, programming, and data structures. Familiar with big data components such as Flink, Spark, Kafka, Redis, HDFS, Storm, etc. Familiar with the Hadoop ecosystem, including Hive, MapReduce, etc.

Preferred but not mandatory for this role:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK full time - we welcome applications from domestic and international students.
  • Chinese Mandarin language is always helpful when working in a Chinese business but this is not essential. Not speaking Mandarin will not be of detriment to your application.
