About Us
Sikla is a global manufacturer and supplier of modular steelwork and engineered support systems, delivering solutions for industrial and construction projects. Our systems improve installation efficiency, safety, and quality, supported by BIM-integrated design workflows and off-site construction methodologies.
About the Role
We are looking for a Junior / Graduate Revit and BIM Technician to join our engineering team in Milton Keynes. This role is suitable for a graduate, junior, or early-career candidate who already has substantial Revit ability. Graduates are encouraged to apply where they have completed extensive practical Revit training through a BIM, digital construction, architecture, engineering, or built environment course.
This is not a supervisory role, but it does require someone who is confident taking ownership of Revit maintenance tasks and helping the team keep consistent and reliable BIM workflows in place.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support Revit templates, families, project setup, and shared modelling standards.
- Support day-to-day Revit use within the engineering team, helping to resolve modelling, setup, and coordination issues.
- Assist with Revit model integration, coordination exports, and interoperability with other software where required.
- Produce and update 3D models and drawings using Revit and other BIM tools.
- Help maintain consistent BIM workflows, naming conventions, and model management practices.
- Support the development of Revit content for Sikla modular steelwork systems.
- Work with engineers and experienced CAD/BIM colleagues to turn design information into clear, coordinated outputs.
Essential Requirements
- Graduate, junior, or early-career candidate, typically with up to 3 years’ relevant experience.
- Strong existing Revit ability is essential, including confidence with model setup, families, templates, and day-to-day project support.
- Understanding of Revit administration, standards, shared parameters, content management, or similar BIM integration tasks.
- Able to demonstrate Revit competence through previous work, training, coursework, portfolio examples, or practical assessment.
- Other BIM software experience is welcome, but Revit experience is required.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of day-to-day Revit maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Degree, HNC, apprenticeship, or equivalent training in BIM, digital construction, architecture, engineering, built environment, or a related subject preferred.
- Graduates from BIM or digital construction courses may be suitable where their course included substantial practical Revit training.
- Equivalent practical experience will also be considered where the candidate can demonstrate strong existing Revit capability.
Desirable Experience
- Familiarity with BIM workflows and ISO 19650 principles.
- Experience with model coordination, clash review workflows, or coordination exports.
- Experience with other BIM or modelling software is useful, but Revit remains essential for this role.
Key Behaviours
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus.
- Proactive and solutions-focused approach.
- Confidence to take ownership of Revit maintenance tasks without requiring supervisory responsibility.
- Ability to support colleagues clearly and patiently with Revit-related queries.
- Interest in developing specialist BIM and digital construction capability.
Why Join Sikla?
- Develop specialist Revit and BIM capability in an engineering and construction-focused environment.
- Work on modern modular steel solutions across a variety of construction and industrial projects.
- Be part of a collaborative and supportive engineering team.
- Opportunity for progression into more advanced BIM, digital design, or technical responsibilities.
- Ongoing training and development support.
Core Contractual Benefits
- 25 days annual leave plus legal Public Holidays.
- Pension contributions.
Extra perks and wellbeing initiatives which may include:

- Monthly lunches organised on site.
- Free on-site refreshments.
- Gym membership – subject to passing probationary period.
- Pilates classes organised bimonthly on site.
