Are you passionate about law, intellectually curious and interested in working with leading judges, lawyers, competition authorities and policymakers from around the world?

OxFirst Club is looking for a bright, highly organised and proactive individual to help develop international conferences on intellectual property, patent law and competition law.

This is an exciting opportunity for a student or recent graduate interested in the legal profession, international affairs and business development.

What You Will Do

• Organise international legal conferences: Help plan events, identify speakers and attract participants from leading law firms, courts, competition authorities and businesses.

• Business development & sponsorship: Research potential sponsors and participants, approach organisations, build professional relationships and follow up on opportunities.

• Legal research & writing: Research developments in competition law, patent law and intellectual property, and draft articles and briefings.

• Professional networking: Engage with senior lawyers, judges, policymakers, academics and business executives.

• Marketing & outreach: Support LinkedIn communications, webinars and international professional engagement.

Who We Are Looking For

• A genuine passion for law and an interest in legal institutions and developments.

• Excellent organisational, communication and research skills.

• A proactive, independent and commercially minded approach.

• Confidence approaching professionals and developing relationships.

• Strong writing ability and intellectual curiosity.

A law degree is not required. We welcome applications from law, politics, history, philosophy, economics, international relations, business, literature and other disciplines.

This role may be particularly interesting to graduates considering a law conversion course or future career in law.
