What You'll Be Doing
Looking for a science-led role where you can apply your degree, work with industry clients, and develop your technical expertise as part of a collaborative team?
We’re looking for a Packaging Technologist / Scientist to join our Analytical Services – Packaging team at our Chipping Campden site. This is a predominantly on-site role and, due to our rural location, applicants will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to their own vehicle.
Your Day-to-Day Tasks Will Include:
- Delivering technical work on packaging projects, managing your own time to meet project deadlines
- Carrying out packaging analysis and testing across a range of materials and formats
- Interpreting results and contributing to client reports under supervision
- Supporting the practical delivery of training courses, including demonstrations
- Responding to technical enquiries with support from senior colleagues
- Assisting with preparation of simple project quotations
- Maintaining analytical equipment, pilot plant facilities, and associated records
- Supporting good housekeeping, hygiene, and safety practices
- Working closely with colleagues across multidisciplinary teams
What We're Looking For
You’ll be a good fit if you have:
- A degree in Packaging, Materials Science, Food Technology, Microscopy, or a closely related discipline
- An interest or foundational knowledge of food packaging materials (e.g. plastics, paperboard, metal, glass)
- Good verbal and written communication skills, with the confidence to interact with clients
- Strong time management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects
- Basic IT skills and general technical literacy
- A proactive, can-do approach and willingness to learn
Knowledge of polymer science or previous experience in packaging or laboratory environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.
