The Role

Plexus is seeking a driven and analytical Materials Costing Specialist to join our team. This is a Graduate/Entry level position and will be based onsite in our Kelso facility.

Due to the nature of project work, we require candidates to hold U.K. nationality or to either have, or be able to go through, U.K. national security vetting and clearance.

In this role, you will be at the heart of our financial and supply chain operations, ensuring that our material costs are accurate, competitive, and optimized to help us deliver world-class products to our customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate to launch a career in a global manufacturing environment with a direct impact on the bottom line.

Academic Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or Accounting.

  • Analytical Rigor: Strong numerical skills and the ability to interpret complex data sets to identify cost trends and savings opportunities.
  • Detail-Oriented: A commitment to high levels of accuracy in financial reporting and material pricing.
  • Communication: The ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams (Sourcing, Engineering, and Finance) and external suppliers.
  • Tech Savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; familiarity with ERP systems (like JD Edwards or SAP) is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and maintain accurate material costs within our database.
  • Support the quoting process for new business opportunities by providing detailed cost breakdowns.
  • Identify and report on material price variances and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the Sourcing team to ensure supplier pricing aligns with contractual agreements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects to streamline the costing process.
