The Opportunity

This 12-month placement offers a starting salary of £24,500 and the chance to work at #Bridgwater on the Hinkley Point C construction site or Satellite Delivery Centre – both part of the largest construction project in Europe.

You’ll join our Science and Engineering Programme, gaining hands-on experience in mechanical engineering. You’ll work alongside experienced professionals, contribute to real-world challenges, and develop technical, analytical and collaborative skills that will support your future career.

What You’ll Be Doing

During your Mechanical Engineering Industrial Placement, you’ll be immersed in a multidisciplinary team of engineers with varied academic backgrounds. Past students have supported safety improvement campaigns, contributed to radiation protection strategies, and helped maintain condition monitoring programmes across operational sites.

You’ll also assist in addressing engineering challenges related to the installation of electrical and mechanical components, support technical assessments, and help ensure nuclear safety remains uncompromised. This placement offers practical learning in a professional environment, supported by mentors and collaborative teams.

Your Work Location

You’ll be based at the #Bridgwater Hinkley Point C construction site or Satellite Delivery Centre, where you’ll be part of a team driving progress on one of the UK’s most significant energy projects.

Who You Are

To be eligible for this EDF industrial placement, you need to be on track to achieve – or have already achieved – a bachelor’s or postgraduate degree (2:2 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering.
