Placement Administrator

Salary: £26,707 to £28,031 per annum, pro rata

There are two positions available:
- A maternity cover position which is full-time (37 hours a week) and offered on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis of a maximum of 12 months.
- A substantive position which is part-time. It is envisaged this will be a term-time only position (32 weeks a year) and be 25 hours per week. Exact working patterns will be formalised with the successful candidate.

The Team
The Placements Team are part of the wider Student Success and Learning Services Directorate, providing centralised support for professional placements, working closely with the Schools of Health and Education.
It is an exciting and challenging time for the Team as professional placements across the University are increasing both in terms of student numbers and the programmes being supported. This expansion offers a great opportunity not only to increase the size of the team but to also develop relationships and ways of working in new areas.
The Role
Helping to develop the next generation of Health & Education professionals, the role will support students undertaking professional placements as part of their course.
Responsibilities include:
- Liaising with a wide variety of partners to develop and maintain relationships and to generate placement opportunities
- Working closely with academic colleagues on the delivery of placement opportunities
- Allocating students to placements exercising appropriate judgement and decision making
- Arranging logistics and communicating with students to ensure the smooth running of the placements
- Collating and generating a wide range of data for a variety of purposes.
Opportunities include:
- Improving existing systems and processes
- Working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
- Developing a working knowledge of specialist software.
