Job Description

We are looking for a Placement and Work Experience Consultant to support students in securing placements, internships, volunteering opportunities and other forms of work-related learning.

As part of Careers and Futures, you will work directly with undergraduate and postgraduate students, providing tailored one-to-one guidance and delivering engaging employability workshops. You will support students throughout their placement journey, helping them navigate opportunities, understand processes and build the skills required to thrive in professional environments.

You will collaborate with employers, academic colleagues and professional services teams to deliver events, build partnerships and create opportunities that strengthen student employability. Alongside this, you will play an important role in monitoring engagement, supporting compliance processes and contributing to the continued growth of placement and work experience opportunities across the University.

Qualifications Required

The successful candidate will bring experience of supporting students within a higher education or employability setting, together with excellent communication, relationship-building and organisational skills.

You will be motivated by delivering outstanding student support and excited by the opportunity to contribute to an ambitious and expanding area of the University's employability strategy.

Company Culture and Inclusivity

Middlesex is committed to fostering an inclusive working environment. We encourage applications from underrepresented groups including people from Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, disabled people, LGBTQ+ people, women, and gender non-conforming individuals. All recruitment decisions will be based on merit.

We value diversity and strive to create a fairer, more equitable work environment for our staff and students. We offer a range of family friendly, inclusive employment policies, flexible working arrangements, staff diversity networks, campus facilities and services to support staff from different backgrounds.

Middlesex is home to a diverse community of professionals. We are a bronze award holder of the Athena Swan Charter and the Race Equality Charter, a Stonewall Top 100 employer and Gold award holder in 2023, and a Disability Confident Leader.
