We are looking for an enthusiastic Placement Student - EBU Product Engineering ; Customer, Service and Product Improvement (CSPI) organization based at Darlington, working principally within Darlington Engine Plant (DEP)'s Product Engineering team, in the Engine Business Unit (EBU). During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential !

This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1 July 2025. This position is a fully on site position in Darlington.

External Qualifications and Competencies

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Product Engineering provides engineering support to manufacturing facilities from build to end of life, involving technical issue resolution and development of new parts to meet our customers' needs.
  • Undertaking of key engineering projects for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Building partnerships and working collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
  • Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences.

Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position

To be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Currently studying a STEM degree, Electromechanical, Mechatronics, or Physics and mathematics.
  • Actively seeking new ways to grow and be challenged using both formal and informal development channels.
  • Making good and timely decisions that keep the organization moving forward and consistently achieving results, even under tough circumstances.
  • Basic use and understanding of 3D Modelling, drafting and Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
