We are looking for an enthusiastic Test Technology Engineer Placement Student to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Test Technology Business Segment in Darlington. During your placement with us, you will learn how a major global organization operates, gaining the tools and exposure you will need to become an expert in the industry and power your potential! This role is available to candidates who qualify for a placement year and will commence 1 July 2025.
External Qualifications and Competencies
The role is within a team focused on test facility development and technical improvement projects, while maintaining existing capabilities:
- Co-ordinating projects based around infrastructure and technology used in testing and development activity.
- Developing and applying practical skillset through resolution of equipment or facility troubleshooting.
- Communicating with engineering teams around ongoing test and development projects.
- Working with global teams on upcoming Cummins technology.
- Developing capabilities and use cases of measurement equipment and transducers, used for emissions or mechanical characteristics of system performance.
Additional Responsibilities Unique to this Position
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- We are looking for a wide range of students currently with a background in engineering or another STEM-related subject is beneficial..
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a willingness to learn new skills.
- An understanding of engine or powertrain system fundamentals would be an advantage however training will be provided for all industry specific skills required for the role
- Good Microsoft Office skills are required including Excel, skills would also be beneficial although are not essential.
- Adaptable and proactive attitude with a desire to learn and take on responsibilities.
