12 Month University Placement in the field of Engineering, working on the process development of deodorant at our R&D site in Leeds.

The student will work for 12 months within our Global R&D division and will be involved in process development for our deodorant/antiperspirant emulsion and suspension products across brands such as Dove and Sure. They will work within our pilot plant, defining the method of manufacture of our new innovative products. They will be working on scale up experiment studies from bench scale (1 kg) to full scale (3000 kg) enabling production launches at our mixing plants in Leeds and abroad.

Person Specification

  • A good communicator, flexible in approach, confident in own ability and able to contribute at a practical level. Possess good team working and time management skills.
  • Have a good academic record and be willing to work on 'hands on' pilot scale experiments.
  • Good IT skills are essential and experience of modelling and statistical analysis of experiments would be an advantage.

The placement is aimed at students enrolled on an Engineering or Physical Science based degree, who are using their 3rd or later year to work on an industrial placement.

Or describe an example where you have used a digital tool or technique to improve an existing process. What tools did you use and how did it impact your results and conclusions? (max 200 words)
