Join our one-year Year in Industry programme in Project Management and gain hands-on experience with the teams delivering a wide variety of projects - from small-scale business initiatives and operational improvements to strategic transformation programmes, maintenance schemes and multimillion-pound infrastructure projects.
You’ll take part in inspiring placements across the business, guided by experienced mentors who’ll support your growth and help you build a strong foundation in project delivery.
Whether you're working on a local scheme or contributing to a national programme, you’ll gain valuable experience in developing, planning and managing projects that help connect the country and shape the future of our roads.
Please note: Your contractual base for this placement will be our Bedford office. However, this placement is primarily linked to our A47 project, which requires regular travel to the live site in Norwich. Please consider the travel requirements and how they align with your current location before applying.

To be eligible for our placement programme, you must:

Be finishing the second year of your undergraduate degree programme in June 2026.

Expected to achieve a minimum of a 2:2 in any subject and have at least a Grade C/Grade 4 in Mathematics and English Language at GCSE.

Be able attend a 2-day induction from 29th-30th June 2026.

Successful candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK from the start of the programme. This role does not meet the minimum salary threshold for visa sponsorship.
Assessment Centres will run in January and February 2026, and you’ll hear back soon after about whether you’ve secured a placement.
All offers to the programme are subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks, including Right to Work, reference, and DBS criminal record checks.
