Job Description

This is a one-year Industrial Placement starting on 1st September 2025. To be eligible for this programme, you must be currently studying at University and undertaking a one-year industrial placement as part of your course. You must be returning to University in September 2026.

Application Process

Registration is simple and, if eligible for the programme, you will be sent a 30–45-minute online assessment as part of the application process. If you are successful at the assessment, we will be in touch shortly after to arrange the two-stage interview process.

Role

Renaissance Asset Finance (RAF) provides unregulated fixed-term finance to its chosen customer market of small and medium-sized enterprises and high net worth individuals. These are generally introduced to RAF via a network of brokers with whom RAF establishes close working relationships. The majority of the assets financed by RAF comprise of higher value private cars, collectors’ cars, purpose-built taxis, coaches and other specialist vehicles. RAF also funds the purchase of a range of commercial plant and machinery as well as a limited volume of business-critical soft assets. RAF prefers to finance assets that have strong collateral characteristics and identifiable second-hand markets.

Renaissance Asset Finance Limited (RAF) was established by its founder shareholders in February 2014. Following the exchange of contracts on 20th December 2016 between RAF's shareholders and Arbuthnot Latham & Co., Limited (AL), and subsequent regulatory approval, RAF became a wholly owned subsidiary of AL in April 2017.

The Placement student will work with all teams within Renaissance Asset Finance, to support the originating of new asset finance business through both broker relationships and direct customer channels and support the after-sales service provided to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare proposals for submission onto underwriting by completing various searches and obtaining valuations.
  • Communicate decisions received from the underwriter to the broker, salesperson, or customer.
  • Chasing Brokers and salespeople for updates on pending and agreed proposals.
  • Raising and checking documentation to be signed.
  • Checking deals for payout, ensuring all necessary documentation is present and correct and in line with credit approval.
  • Assist with customer queries, alerts regarding our assets and their insurance status, and offboarding agreements in line with GDPR.
  • Set up new brokers and complete checks on our existing brokers to support their annual reviews.
  • Assist with ad hoc reporting and data cleansing projects.
  • Contribute new ideas for the development of the business and improvement in team effectiveness.
  • Build relationships with team colleagues and across the wider firm.
