Our Founder/CEO previously was Director of the ONE campaign across Europe for seven years, responsible for all ONE’s policy, campaigns, digital, media, and advocacy work. He was a key architect of the Make Poverty History Campaign; Movement Director for the anti-slavery organisation Walk Free; and an Executive Director of the UK Labour Party.

The Role

Future Advocacy is seeking a Research, Advocacy, Campaigns and Communications Coordinator. This is a great opportunity to be thrown in at the deep end in a small, exciting organisation that places a keen focus on team and personal development. The successful candidate will quickly develop a range of skills, including research, advocacy, writing, and communications. They will work closely with the CEO and other senior leaders as part of our small and friendly team.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Researching key issues relating to consultancy projects
  • Supporting advocacy, events, and communications work
  • Supporting business development
  • Supporting project management
  • Other tasks as required

We would love to hear from you if you meet the criteria below:

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent and/or relevant work experience
  • Ability to deliver work accurately in a fast-paced but supportive environment
  • First-class writing and verbal communications skills in English at native level or equivalent
  • Digital skills, including experience in and excitement about using AI tools ethically
  • Experience of using social media effectively
  • An excellent eye for attention to detail and quality
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Enthusiasm, adaptability, and ability to manage competing priorities
  • Willingness to undertake routine admin tasks

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in campaigning, events or communications (paid or voluntary)
  • Quantitative research skills

Timeline

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a short online assessment, and if successful, first round interviews will be held online in mid October.

If we’re both excited to proceed, second interviews will be held in person, where we will ask you to complete a written task.

Location: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the London office)

Contract Type: Full-time, permanent, 35 hours per week

Reports to: Director of Advocacy and Communications

Salary and Benefits: £24-26k depending on experience, plus a discretionary annual bonus, 35 days leave per annum (inclusive of bank holidays) and a 6% employer pension contribution.
