Ratcliffe College is seeking an enthusiastic and talented Resident Graduate Music Assistant for a fixed-term appointment of one year with a possible extension of a further year. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recent music graduate who is considering a career in education, performance, or music administration. You will join a vibrant and highly successful Music Department, contributing to the musical life of the College across curricular and co-curricular areas. Undergraduates looking for gap year placement would also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of Music lessons across a range of age groups.
- Provide support with ensemble rehearsals, concerts, and musical events.
- Offer individual or small-group coaching to pupils, depending on skills and experience.
- Support the administration and organisation of the Music Department.
- Contribute to the boarding/community life of the College.
- Assist with duties such as rehearsal supervision, instrument inventory, music library organisation, and concert logistics.
The Successful Candidate Will Have:
- A degree in Music or a closely related discipline.
- Strong practical musicianship (instrumental or vocal).
- A passion for inspiring young musicians and supporting their progress.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- A willingness to be fully involved in school life, including evenings and weekends when events require.
- An appreciation of the responsibilities of living and working within a school community.
