The Role:
- Support the Commercial Analysis Manager in providing a full commercial reporting function for Grand Central, including the analysis of trading performance and industry trends, providing insight to the wider business.
- Support the Commercial Analysis Manager to automate and develop our commercial reporting through use of the Arriva BI platform, with support from the wider AUKT BI team.
- Lead Grand Central’s group booking function, ensuring that all requests are responded to within relevant deadlines. This will include making decisions on whether to accept group bookings on certain dates and/or services, depending upon current or forecasted demand.
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support to the Commercial Analysis Manager to inform forecasting, revenue claims and other commercial activities.
- Provide ad-hoc analytical support to the Revenue Management team, monitoring our competitive position to inform our advance-purchase strategy.
Essential Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a university degree program, ideally in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, or Finance.
- Seeking a placement opportunity between the second and final year of your course.
- Educated to degree level (or similar) with strong written and numerical skills.
- Have experience of analysing complex data.
- Have experience working within a team & to deadlines.
- Have excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
- Commercially aware and able to appreciate the wider business perspective.
- Customer empathy with understanding of the impact of commercial actions on customer experience.
- Able to take an innovative approach within their work and make proactive recommendations.
Desirable
- Experience using BI tools.
