The Scheme
You'll undertake three six-month placements offering broad experience across the airport. Graduates will gain exposure to both frontline operations and corporate functions. The programme is designed to develop leadership skills, commercial acumen, and project management capabilities while contributing to our digital and data transformation agenda.
Operational Placement
Through collaborating with our colleagues and carrying out projects in the operation, you will gain a real understanding of how we run one of the world’s busiest airports in areas like passenger services, operational planning, and security.
Non-Operational Placement
This will typically be in an area like our Customer function (such as retail, marketing or airline engagement), Technology (such as data, digital, process improvement or project management), or Strategy (such as planning, forecasting, data insights, communications or sustainability). The projects you work on will give you real insight into how we develop and deliver solutions to support our passengers and build a profitable business.
Tailored Placement
Your third and final placement will involve opportunities to consolidate and refine your skills. The type of role will depend on your personal strengths and preferences. We’ll work with you to find a placement that stretches and challenges you while helping develop your strengths.
Supporting You for Success
Heathrow is a place where everybody belongs, and there are no limits on what you can achieve. Throughout the programme, you will be supported by a dedicated mentor who can answer any questions you may have about the organisation. You will also have a ‘buddy’ to show you the ropes until you find your feet. In the final months, you will have the support of a senior sponsor from our leadership team to help you build networks, challenge your thinking, and unlock opportunities.
You will also go through a structured learning programme, providing you with the tools to build a career at Heathrow. From here you can go anywhere.

Our graduate programmes offer a unique experience of Britain’s busiest airport. Most of your time will be spent on-site working, so you'll need to be based in the UK and within commutable distance to Heathrow.
