Want to see how politics really work – and use it to drive change?

We’re offering a work experience placement in our Policy and Campaigns team, where you’ll help shape RNIB’s public affairs work and influence decision-makers to improve outcomes for blind and partially sighted people.

You’ll gain hands-on experience supporting our engagement with MPs, peers, and policymakers, monitoring parliamentary activity, helping deliver creative influencing events, and ensuring lived experience is at the heart of everything we do.


What you’ll do

  • Support the Public Affairs Officer to influence policymakers through briefings, meetings, and events
  • Track and report on parliamentary activity that matters to RNIB
  • Help amplify the voices of blind and partially sighted people in our influencing work
  • Use political insight to spot opportunities to shape public policy
  • Work alongside campaigners across the UK to mobilise supporters and deliver impact


Who we’re looking for

  • A strong interest in UK politics, policy, or campaigning
  • Understanding of Parliament, government, and devolution
  • Strong written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Able to build relationships and work well independently and as part of a team
  • Committed to equality, inclusion, and social change
