Job Summary
As GRAHAM continues to grow across our Civil Engineering Division, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Stakeholder & Community Engagement Graduate to join our Stakeholder Management & Communications team. Working across a major infrastructure project in Dublin, you will help build and maintain positive relationships with clients, local communities, stakeholders and project partners, supporting the delivery of effective communications, engagement activities and social value initiatives that enhance the reputation of both our projects and our business.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate looking to develop a career in stakeholder engagement, communications or community relations. Working alongside experienced professionals, you will be given the encouragement and support to assist with stakeholder communications, community events, project updates and engagement programmes, helping to ensure stakeholders remain informed, engaged and supported throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will also work closely with our Social Impact Team to support community outreach initiatives across local schools, colleges, and other educational establishments. They will also contribute to a range of community programmes and engagement activities, helping to create a positive and lasting legacy within the local community.
This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive attitude, flexibility to travel to project sites and the ability to occasionally attend meetings or events outside normal working hours.
Job Description
The Stakeholder and Community Engagement Graduate shall:
- Support the delivery of stakeholder and community engagement activities across major infrastructure projects.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, clients, stakeholders and project partners.
- Respond to stakeholder enquiries and maintain accurate records using internal systems.
- Assist in the creation and distribution of project communications, including newsletters, social media content, website updates and presentations.
- Support the planning and delivery of community events, site visits, consultations and social value initiatives.
- Attend stakeholder, community and project meetings, providing engagement and communications support where required.
- Promote project achievements, milestones and positive news stories through internal and external communication channels.
- Work closely with project teams to ensure stakeholders are informed and engagement commitments are delivered effectively.
- Support the wider Stakeholder Management & Communications Team in achieving project and business objectives.
- Support the delivery of community outreach and educational engagement initiatives, working closely with the Social Impact Team, local schools, colleges and training providers.
- Assist in the coordination of community programmes, events and social value activities, helping to create a positive and lasting impact within local communities.
Personal Specification
Essential
- Degree (or expected degree attainment) in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Community Development or other similar field.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to personal development.
- Valid ROI Driving Licence and access to a vehicle for business travel.
- Flexibility to travel to project sites and occasionally attend meetings outside normal working hours.
Desirable
- Previous work experience, placement year or internship in communications, public relations, stakeholder engagement, community engagement, marketing or customer service.
- Understanding of stakeholder engagement, community relations or social value initiatives.
- Interest in the construction, infrastructure or civil engineering sectors.
- Experience planning or supporting events, consultations or community activities.
- Knowledge of CRM or stakeholder management systems.
