Join Stanmore, a 1,500-strong, family-built contractor delivering complex interiors and façade projects at scale across the UK. Our Graduate Scheme is a fast-track route into an exciting construction career — giving you hands-on experience, industry mentoring, and the opportunity to shape how major projects are delivered from concept to completion.

Unlike traditional schemes, Stanmore graduates rotate through multiple departments, building a complete understanding of design, commercial, and operational delivery. You’ll learn on live projects, work alongside senior professionals, and take real responsibility from day one.

Programme Overview

Depending on your chosen track, you’ll rotate through key disciplines that give you a rounded, practical foundation:

Operations Track (24 months)

Construction (12 months, site-based):
Master on-site delivery across façades, dry lining, glazing, and metalwork. Build leadership skills, learn safety and quality management, and gain confidence managing teams and client relationships.

Surveying (6 months, office-based):
Learn cost control, valuation, and commercial strategy. Manage live projects and client accounts to ensure profitable delivery.

Estimating (6 months, office-based):
Develop the financial acumen to prepare competitive tenders and shape winning bids before projects begin.

BuildPrep Track (18 months)

Material Procurement (6 months, office-based):
Work with suppliers, negotiate costs, and explore innovative materials that bring architecture to life.

Design (6 months, office-based):
Use 2D and 3D modelling tools to create practical, buildable solutions, collaborating closely with engineers and delivery teams.

Estimating (6 months, office-based):
Learn commercial control and cost planning to drive project performance and profitability.

Capstone Project

In your final months, deliver a business improvement project with measurable impact, presenting outcomes directly to our executive team.

Who You Are

• 2:1 degree (any discipline)

• Great communicator with analytical thinking and resilience

• Keen to learn, collaborate, and lead

• AAA–AAB A levels (or equivalent)
