Job Description
Oxford Nanopore Technologies: Our goal is to bring the widest benefits to society through enabling the analysis of anything, by anyone, anywhere. The company has developed a new generation of nanopore-based sensing technology for faster, information-rich, accessible, and affordable molecular analysis. The first application is DNA/RNA sequencing, and the technology is in development for the analysis of other types of molecules including proteins. The technology is used to understand and characterize the biology of humans and diseases such as cancer, plants, animals, bacteria, viruses, and whole environments.
With a thriving culture of ambition and strong innovation goals, Oxford Nanopore is a UK-headquartered company with global operations and customers in more than 125 countries!
We are looking for a motivated and curious individual to join our Supply Chain team as a Supply Chain Centre of Excellence Intern. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a global, science-led technology company while supporting key process improvement programmes across the business. The internship is for a 12-month period and will be based at our HQ in Oxford.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Support the coordination and implementation of process improvement initiatives, with a focus on systems and operational processes.
- Collaborate with teams across supply chain, operations, and wider business functions.
- Analyse, monitor and maintain data within business systems.
- Support testing of new systems, processes, and functionality.
- Assist in creating and maintaining process maps, standard operating procedures, work instructions, videos, presentations, and training materials.
- Monitor new processes, track changes, review existing workflows and report updates, risks, or issues where required.
- Support additional tasks and projects within the scope of the role.
About You
You will ideally be working towards a degree in Supply Chain, although we also welcome applications from students in related areas such as accounting, marketing, engineering, business, or other relevant disciplines.
You should be organized, proactive, and self-motivated, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will be comfortable working with different teams and able to engage effectively across a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
This is a one-year internship, with flexibility around start and end dates for students completing an industry placement before returning to university. The ideal start date is the beginning of September.
This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your skills, gain valuable real-world experience, and contribute to work that has the potential to make a meaningful difference to humankind.
