Pensions Section
The Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) is a national public service pension scheme, forming a valuable part of the pay and reward package for eligible employees. The Rhondda Cynon Taf Pension Fund, as one of 86 administering authorities for the LGPS, serves over 80,000 members, participating employers, deferred members, and pensioners. Our Pension Section effectively manages all aspects of member pension benefits in adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements, ensuring robust governance and compliance.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly organised Communications, Governance and Employer Liaison Officer to join our busy Pensions Team. The role focuses primarily on communications, requiring candidates to demonstrate strong and relevant skills complementing our team. You will work with the Management Team and senior colleagues to achieve set objectives and deadlines.
Required Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Confidence in working with data and digital tools.
- Demonstrating initiative, accuracy, and strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with various stakeholders and building effective professional relationships.
- Teamwork orientation.
Knowledge of pensions or the LGPS is preferable but not essential, with full training provided, including the opportunity to complete pension-specific qualifications.
Essential Criteria:
A minimum 2:2 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, e.g.
- Communications / Corporate Communications
- Public Relations
- Media and Communication Studies
- Journalism
- Digital Media / Digital Communications
