All Graduate Officers will receive support to complete either a Level 4 Project Management qualification or job-related technical training as part of the programme, both of which are fully funded.
About The Department
The Early Help and Community Programmes is an ambitious service area of the Council that focuses on early intervention, prevention, and fostering resilient communities. Key functions of the department include:
- Community Assets & Facilities: Supporting the Community Asset Transfer scheme and developing Community Hubs/venues as focal points for local support.
- Community Programmes and Grants: Delivering effective grant funding programmes such as the Community and Children's Grant.
- Early Help: Improving access to Early Help services and working collaboratively with communities, partners, and Council-wide services to build capacity and resilience.

As a future-oriented service area, Early Help aims to deliver coordinated support at the earliest opportunity. The service works across multiple services to ensure residents receive accessible information, advice, and support through a clear graduated response, ensuring timely assistance.

Your Role as Graduate Transformation Officer for Early Help
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting early intervention pathways.
- Engaging directly with communities and partners to strengthen local networks.
- Contributing to commissioning activities and community projects.
- Designing and delivering innovative approaches to increase community resilience.
This role offers invaluable experience ideal for those aspiring to build a meaningful career in public service, social policy, community engagement, or child and family services.

Essential Criteria
A minimum of a 2:2 degree in Behavioural Science, Sustainability & Social Change, Public Services, Health & Social Care, or a closely related discipline is required.
