Please note: This position is for Undergraduates looking for a Placement Year within their course for the academic year 2027/28 only.

Are you ready to push the boundaries of motorcycle design and performance? Triumph, a revered name in the motorcycle industry, is seeking a skilled and passionate Electrical/Electronic systems Engineer on an industrial placement to join our team in Hinckley. The Industrial Placement student will work on tasks ranging from systems specification, Component Specification, Electrical Distribution System Design and Test & Validation. The role will develop and test a broad range of skills which may include the design and development of whole vehicle circuit layouts and wiring harnesses, specification and requirements definitions of a wide variety of electrical/electronic components and systems, and development of test and instrumentation methods. The role may include practical electronics and embedded software projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The role will develop and test a broad range of skills which may include stakeholder reviews, feature definition, system design, hardware specification/circuit analysis, design of HIL Rig interfaces, 2D CAD design work, supplier liaison, and practical testing in the workshop.
  • Undertake an induction programme which will give you the skills required for this role.
  • You will be required to communicate with external suppliers as well as other departments within the company such as Purchasing, Quality, Assembly, and Manufacturing – developing key skills required by industry.

Requirements for Role:

  • Proficient in Microsoft packages
  • Self-motivated and resilient, flexible and adaptable, able to take instruction and work under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills, clear and concise written and verbal skills
  • Only open to university students who are studying an engineering-related degree looking for a student placement for the academic year 2027-2028
