Key Tasks
- Carry out all reasonable instructions from senior staff promptly and enthusiastically;
- Undertake certain elements of fee earning work under supervision;
- Acquiring and maintaining legal knowledge through training and development activity and ensuring compliance with professional development requirements of Regulator;
- To become confident in dealing with clients and other professionals and to learn the ability quickly to earn the trust of clients and others in all dealings;
- To provide a valuable contribution to the work of each department to which the trainee has been allocated a seat, to assist each training principal with his or her daily workload and to provide practice support both departmentally and generally within the firm;
- Complete the Professional Skills Course (PSC);
- Complete the Police Station Accreditation Qualification.
- Adhere to the terms of the Training Contract;
- File management in accordance with the Quality Procedures Manual and Lexcel requirements, as appropriate;
- Compliance with LAA contract requirements, as appropriate;
- Ensure the confidentiality and security of all firm and client documentation and information;
- To maintain high standards in the processing of client work, both in respect of professional standards and client care;
- Taking client instructions and providing high quality legal advice and assistance;
- Efficiently and effectively manage a personal caseload, where appropriate;
- Represent clients at hearings and at the police station, if appropriate, subject to rights of audience;
- Compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct and SRA Accounts Rules;
- Contributing to maintaining a safe and healthy working environment;
- Contribute to the smooth running of the office and maintaining/improving office procedures;
- Ensuring compliance with Equality and Diversity Policy;
- Any other duties which from time to time are required by the firm.
Person Specification
