Training Contract
Law training contract
We’re keen to receive applications from future lawyers with ambition to become qualified via the Training Contract route. Openings currently exist for those looking to commence training from our Southampton office in 2026, and from London, Cardiff, or Thames Valley from 2027. All future Trainees will be required to have successfully completed their SQE1 (or LPC) at the start of their period of training. Training contract opportunities are available for internal and external applicants.
When recruiting our trainee solicitors, we are looking for:
Ability, enthusiasm, commitment, and contribution. We recruit high-calibre people with proven analytical ability, strong interpersonal skills, good commercial awareness, and an excellent academic record. We look for individuals with a record of significant personal achievement, who are willing and flexible, and who care about their communities as much as we do.
Training Structure
Our training contract consists of four six-month seats in various areas of the business, giving you a wide range of experience and opportunity. We offer a varied rotation of seat choices which will enable you to build experience, apply your legal knowledge, and develop a broad range of skills which will lay the foundation for your future career, wherever you choose to specialise.
Seat options are usually available across our Business Groups:
- The network includes your seat supervisor, assigned mentor, regional training partner, training principal, and the other trainees.
- You will be invited to attend client meetings, networking events, and a series of training sessions to help develop your knowledge, skills, and confidence.
Financial Support
We offer financial support towards course and exam fees for the SQE and LPC. Further maintenance support may be available for those studying full-time and is awarded on a case-by-case basis.

We pride ourselves on our personality, which is woven into everything we do for our staff, clients, and communities alike. We have created an environment underpinned by our ACTS framework that places high value on being:
