Our 18-month Graduate Programme is designed to unleash your potential through three dynamic rotations, including an international assignment. You’ll gain hands-on experience, build a global network, and lay the foundation for a thriving career in wealth management.

Your Team

As part of the CRO Division, you will join the Guernsey Credit team which plays a key role in supporting Relationship Management teams in finding and maintaining client oriented and risk adequate solutions in line with Julius Baer’s risk appetite.

We offer a range of credit products to our Private Banking clients on a secured basis (e.g. lending against marketable securities and mortgages). Credit not only performs a full credit risk assessment of the clients’ collateral and overall financial position, but also works to clear structural, legal, regulatory and compliance frameworks in collaboration with partners in other departments.

Your Challenge

  • Support the management of the Guernsey Branch’s credit portfolio as part of a small, dedicated team
  • Become familiar with the Bank’s internal risk framework as well as external Regulatory requirements
  • Help with the daily monitoring of credit exposures, including the handling of any excess positions
  • Provide advice and guidance to Relationship Managers on credit related enquiries and issues
  • Prepare credit proposals including researching the applicant’s background and analysis of financial statements amongst other aspects
  • Oversee the preparation and perfection of loan and security documents
  • Assist with periodic reporting and ongoing project initiatives

Your Profile

  • A bachelor’s degree preferably in related subjects such as Business & Finance, Accountancy, Economics or Law etc. (graduation within the last 3 years)
  • An analytical mindset and keen eye for detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the confidence to communicate & present to individuals at all levels
  • Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Suite, in particular Excel, Word
  • A strong work ethic and keen appetite to learn and, in time, undertake professional study
  • Passion for wealth management and a desire to create value beyond wealth
  • An interest in financial and real estate markets
