Red Bull Technology invites candidates to apply for Industrial Student Placement positions within the Vehicle Performance Group. There are two positions available in the Suspension and Simulation Performance teams.

Ideal Candidates

The positions are ideal for students enrolled in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Automotive Engineering courses. However, we encourage applications from anyone enrolled in a STEM-based course who can demonstrate a strong interest in vehicle performance and data analysis.

Requirements

  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of vehicle dynamics principles.
  • Experience with programming/data-science (Python would be particularly advantageous).
  • Good written and face-to-face communication skills.

Skill Development

Successful candidates will develop skills in problem-solving, creativity, teamwork, planning, innovation, and communication. Regardless of specialization, both positions will require working closely with the wider Vehicle Dynamics group and business.

Specific Tasks

  • Providing predictive performance analysis prior to each event and for longer-term goals like future car concepts.
  • Validating models against track data and developing them to improve accuracy.
  • Supporting real-time and ad-hoc data analysis of race and test events.
  • Developing automated routines and processes for data analysis and metrics generation to improve our efficiency.
  • Utilizing design-of-experiments methods and existing toolsets to explore the vehicle design space.
  • Improving the visualization of data for quick and accurate understanding by the wider company.

Work Environment

The work of the Vehicle Performance Group is tightly coupled to the Race calendar. During the racing season, there is a strong focus on preparing for upcoming events and analyzing recent performance. In the off-season, projects focus on longer-term goals with larger, more complex tasks that lay the foundation for future successes.

Application Process

  • Applicants demonstrating the necessary skills and experience will be invited to undertake a technical exam followed by an online interview for the final short-listed candidates.
  • To be eligible for these placements, candidates must be able to demonstrate they will have at least 1 year of study remaining at the end of their placement year.
  • The placement will be for 1 year, starting in the summer of 2027. Candidates should apply to this advert and submit both a CV and a one-page Cover Letter.

Benefits

This is a fantastic opportunity to complete your student placement with our championship-winning team, alongside some of the greatest talents in F1. A good salary is just the start, with additional benefits such as a daily food allowance, free gym access, fitness classes, multiple discounts with partners, free coffee, unlimited Red Bull, and much more!
