Internship

£32,000

Pride Veterinary Referrals is a large, purpose-built, state-of-the-art referral hospital in Derby. The facilities include thirteen consultation rooms, seven hospital wards including a dedicated ICU ward, five theatres, two ultrasound rooms, a cardiology suite, an advanced imaging suite with CT and MRI, interventional radiology capability, an endoscopy suite, hydrotherapy pool and treadmills, and a dedicated chemotherapy room.

Altogether, we encompass a team of more than 50 Referral veterinary professionals, delivering specialist-led services across all disciplines. Our aim is to deliver world-class patient care, with collaboration across all services to provide the best possible outcome for all patients.

Working alongside our referral practice, we also have a first opinion service and Vets at Night out-of-hours team and work closely with Nottingham University providing rotations for veterinary students. In addition, we have a dedicated leadership structure and dedicated support services including on-site Finance, Customer Care, HR, and IT teams.

We are situated at the heart of Derby on the Pride Park development, in amongst some amazing sporting facilities. The train station is a short walk away and East Midlands International airport is just a 20-minute drive.

Derby is surrounded by some stunning countryside with the Peak District national Park right on the doorstep and a range of activities in the city including parks, museums, sports facilities, restaurants, bars, and live music venues.

Our Specialist Led Team

At the heart of Pride Referrals is our people. You will be surrounded by clinicians, residents, rotating interns, and discipline-specific interns, fostering a supportive and enjoyable work environment where everyone collaborates and supports each other. There is the opportunity to get hands on and scrub in and assist where appropriate.

We have a dedicated team to support Rotating interns for both pastoral and clinical support, backed up by a wider leadership team and further support services including our on-site Wellbeing Team, Finance, Customer Care, HR, and IT teams. In addition, we have a dedicated Vets at Night Team including Vet, Nurses, and VCAs, so when you are on the rota to cover nights you won’t be working alone.
