Gist Limited is one of the UK’s leading logistics companies. We are an M&S company and as our name suggests, we see ourselves as being at the ‘heart of logistics’.

Since we implemented the first centralised chilled distribution network in the UK 50 years ago, Gist supply chains have been constantly evolving to meet the changing needs of our customers. Our customers can be confident that we understand the importance of consistent, high quality service delivery.

We have more than 5,000 colleagues working together to transport chilled, frozen and ambient products from manufacturers to the UK’s largest supermarkets daily.

Our business is primarily made up of large temperature-controlled warehouses and a fleet of

more than 1,400 tractor units, 240 refrigerated rigids and 1,200 refrigerated trailers.

At Gist we support a number of entry routes into our business including Graduate Schemes, Industrial Placements, Summer Internships and Apprenticeships.

Recruitment Process

1. Application Form

Our recruitment process is designed to bring out the best in you, starting off with a simple online application form.

Before you begin your application, take time to research and plan your answers. We want to hear from you why you have chosen us and what makes you stand out, so try to resist the temptation of copy and pasting directly from our website.

2. Video Interview

The second stage of our application process is a 20-minute video interview where we will get to know you, understand why you’re interested in Gist and hear about why you’d be a great fit for us. Don’t worry, you won’t be talking to someone over a video call, instead you will be asked to record your answers to a series of questions. You will also have time to read and prepare an answer for each question.

3. Insight Day

Our insight days are designed to give you the opportunity to learn more about Gist, meet our people and complete some interactive assessments. Dependant on what location you have applied to, you will be invited to one of our UK depots for this stage of the application process.

4. Assessment Centre

If we think you show potential, you will be invited to our final stage assessment centre at one of our UK depots.

Sustainability

Gist has converted to 100% renewable electricity to reduce its carbon emissions in 2021. This change forms part of ongoing efforts to reduce the environmental impact of its operations.

With zero emission electricity now used to power its temperature controlled distribution centres across the UK, this investment in the environment will reduce emissions by more than 6,000 tonnes of CO2 each year.
