The Scale Factory Academy follows our structured, immersive ‘Learn IT, Grow IT, Live IT’ model across a transformational two-year programme.

1. Learn IT

● The Warm-Up: You will begin with a short online course teaching you the fundamentals of computing, AI, and what to expect during your training.

● Core Training: Next is an intense, 7-week course delivered by our dedicated training team (all of whom have worked as Scale Factory Tech Consultants themselves!). This is a brilliant introduction to a variety of technologies, tools, and mindsets. It allows you to explore what you are naturally good at so we can figure out together which paths suit you best.

● The Academy Hub: You will move into our free Academy accommodation for the first 2 weeks of core training. This ensures you can thoroughly embed yourself in the Scale Factory culture, get to know your team and mentors, and collaborate closely. You then have the option to move home and learn remotely for the remaining 3 weeks.

● Choosing Your Stream: After core training, you will enjoy a week off to meet with your assigned career mentor, discuss the areas of tech you fell in love with, and apply for a specialised training stream:

○ Stream 1 – Change Management: Master the skills to become a Business Analyst, Project Manager, Service Desk Analyst, Software Tester, or RPA Analyst.

○ Stream 2 – Platform Engineering: Dive into DevOps and Artificial Intelligence, setting you up to become a DevOps Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer, or Cyber Security Analyst.

○ Stream 3 – Data Engineering: Take a deep dive into data analytics and become a Data Analyst or Business Intelligence Analyst.

○ Stream 4 – Software Engineering: Delivered face-to-face from our vibrant Leeds office, you will learn test-driven development and programming languages to become a Developer or Technical Tester.

2. Grow IT

Next, it is time to focus entirely on YOU with self-driven training and bespoke development. Would you benefit from some 1-to-1 coaching? Want to get certified in a specific global technology? Scale Factory will fully fund your self-development and industry qualifications, and you will have a dedicated mentor to bounce ideas off.

3. Live IT

With your training complete, you will jump straight into a real-time project with one of Scale Factory’s exceptional clients (with heaps of support, of course!). We will collaborate with you to find the perfect client placement based on your interests, preferred working environment, and skillset.

Our clients are industry leaders based across England and Scotland, including high-street fashion brands, market-leading retailers, British Government departments, professional services, charities, healthcare providers, and financial institutions. Relocation may be required depending on the project, but we support you fully—both financially and pastorally.

Live IT is where your career takes flight. Gain invaluable hands-on experience, enjoy continued training, get mentored by industry-leading professionals, and dive headfirst into the Scale Factory social scene! As the two-year Academy programme wraps up, you can choose to continue your consultancy career with Scale Factory or transition into a permanent role directly with your client.

• Financial Launchpad: A £400 monthly bursary during training, alongside free accommodation and bills for your first two weeks. Once you pass training and begin your client placement, your starting salary will be between £25,000 and £28,500. With our six-monthly pay increases to support your accelerated progression too.
