Your recruitment process

Global Graduate Leadership Development Programme

Following the submission of a short application form, your application will be screened and if are eligible to apply for the programme, you will be invited to complete a psychometric assessment.

Following this, you will be invited to the next stage- video screening. This consists of recording yourself answering 5 questions, with your answer videos lasting one minute in length. If you are successful at this stage, you will then be invited to join us at the final stage – an in person assessment centre at our UK manufacturing site in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

The day long assessment centre consists of a pre-prepared presentation, individual interview and a group task which will take place at the end of November. We will aim to make a final decision and offer within the next few weeks ready for an October 2026 start date.

Year in Industry (University Placement Scheme)

Following our quick application process including CV submission and answering a few questions to support us in understanding your interests and what type of placement you are looking for, you will be asked to complete a pre-recorded video interview. We appreciate that these are nobody's favourite thing to do, but it's important for us to get to know you better and to provide you the opportunity to show your individual personality, passion and interests.

If you are successful following your pre-recorded video interview, you will be asked to attend an on-site assessment centre (don't worry.. it's not as scary as it sounds!). We hold two assessment centres, each focussed on different placement types. Depending upon your area of interest, you will be asked to attend one of our assessment centres in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.

Our assessment centre will consist of a short individual presentation to a small panel of Spirax Group colleagues, a fun, group activity and a "mini-interview".

Following the assessment centre, we will update you as soon as possible and ideally will have a decision for you within a week. We don't want you to be left waiting! This way you can expect to know if you are to be offered a placement with us by the second week of December.

Equality and diversity

When all of our colleagues can be themselves and achieve their full potential, we’re better able to create the more efficient, safer and sustainable world that we all aspire to have.

That’s why we’ve put inclusion at the heart of our Group through ‘Everyone is Included’ (our Group Inclusion Plan and Inclusion Commitments), Diversity Goals and more. Inclusion is integral to all of our Group Values too. After all, treating colleagues fairly, ensuring their wellbeing, supporting them to be their authentic selves and helping them with life’s challenges benefits individuals, teams and our Group, as well as our customers, the communities we work in and everyone who depends on us.

We’re making progress, but there’s always more to do. So, we’ll continually evolve our approach, add to it, celebrate success and learn from things that don’t quite go to plan. We’ll share our experiences here on our website and in our Annual Report, and we’ll work with our partners to have an even greater impact together.

Personal development

Our Graduates benefit from undertaking three placements within Sales, Manufacturing and Business (in an area of their choice). By immersing themselves in ‘real life’ job roles and learning through collaboration and networking across global teams and functions, the scope for development is endless! Throughout the two year programme, they will also benefit from a number of internal and external training courses as well as a week long Graduate Development conference (which is much more exciting than it sounds!!) Our graduates are supported by a wide network of managers, senior mentors, peers and our dedicated Early Careers team. This wealth of support and development provides the perfect stepping stone to enter their first permanent role upon finishing the programme, and progressing into a leader of the future.

Through real, on the job training opportunities our Year in Industry Placement Students (YINIs) will get a year’s experience working with experts in their chosen field and will gain exposure to life working within a global, FTSE 100 company. Our programme comes with a mentoring scheme to better support personal development and 'YINIs' will have the opportunity to continue their career within Spirax Group through applying for our Global Graduate Leadership Development Programme.

Sustainability

Since 2021, our One Planet: Engineering with Purpose Sustainability Strategy has been embedded in our Business strategies for sustainable growth.
Implemented locally by each of our three Businesses, with central oversight by the Group Director of Sustainability and the wider Group Executive Committee, it establishes Group-wide targets and operating standards, informs our business decisions, helps manage risk and leverage opportunities for growth, while enabling us to deliver sustainable value to all our stakeholders as we engineer a more efficient, safer and sustainable world.

Our One Planet: Engineering with Purpose Sustainability Strategy is our commitment to operating sustainably and our roadmap to building a more sustainable future for people and the planet. Through our six strategic initiatives, we deliver climate and environmental action, increased customer sustainability, resilient supply chains and stronger communities.

Our six strategic initiatives are:
