From food to fashion, Tesco is one of the world’s largest retailers of consumer goods that serves customers, communities and the planet a little better every day.

Who we are

Our vision here at Tesco is to become every customer's favourite way to shop, whether they are at home or out on the move. Our business was built with a simple mission – to be the champion for customers, helping them to enjoy a better quality of life and an easier way of living. This hasn't changed. Customers want great products at great value which they can buy easily and it's our job to deliver this in the right way for them. In the UK, we serve some 66 shoppers every second, so it's our goal to ensure every one of those customers experiences just a little better service on each visit.

And with so many customers to serve, we need to make sure we have the right people in the business to deliver. From the technologists powering our tech, to our chefs coming up with tasty new recipes.

Values and culture

Tesco is a place where everyone’s welcome, valued and encouraged to be themselves. Think of it as a community where colleagues empower each other to flourish in their own way, and celebrate one another’s individuality. It’s something people will feel and benefit from, whether they’re on one of the 2-year graduate programmes or 10-week internships. Plus, there’s a big focus on wellbeing and work-life balance, with inclusive policies, personalised support, bags of benefits, and flexibility from day one.

Benefits

We’re all about the little helps. That’s why we make sure our Tesco colleague benefits package takes care of you – both in and out of work. Including wellbeing services, discounts in store and online, an outstanding pension scheme, and much, much more, our Tesco colleagues benefits package gives on giving.

Equality, diversion and inclusion

At Tesco, everyone’s welcome. Diversity and inclusion is at the heart of our business. We always want our colleagues to feel they can be themselves at work and celebrate everyone’s individuality. We value individuality and uniqueness, reflecting our communities and creating a sense of belonging.

Wellbeing

Looking after our colleagues means putting their wellbeing first. It’s all about making every day a little better in whatever way works for them. And support looks different for everyone. From 24/7 Virtual GP, to sleep and nutrition specialists, to financial advisors, there’s tonnes on offer to help you take care of your mind, body and life at Tesco.

Personal development

Everyone’s development gets a chance to shine at Tesco. No matter where people are based, there’s a whole lot of support to get careers off to a flying start. Expect early responsibility to help build confidence, as well as access to a huge range of workshops and learning resources, including an on-site training academy. Throughout it all, there’s a buddy on hand for whenever people need a bit of advice.

For both graduates and interns, Tesco’s programmes are jam-packed with opportunities to start building a career to feel really good about. Whether it’s learning how to make the most of professional networks, or developing personal resilience, or nurturing people’s unique skills, there’s a lot in store at Tesco. The end goal: to become their future leaders, and take Tesco’s business from strength to strength.

Sustainability

We've built sustainability into our purpose, strategy and business plans. We know that our business depends on the world around us. As the UK's largest retailer, we know we can make a big difference.

From being the first business globally to set a net zero target back in 2009, to redistributing over 192million meals across the UK through our Food Surplus initiative, to running on 100% renewable energy, we’re working hard to make every day a little better for our customers, colleagues and the planet.
