Thames Festival Trust’s mission is to inspire people to engage with their local river environment, building stronger communities through high-quality cultural experiences. For 30 years, the Trust has developed and delivered ambitious cultural projects around the River Thames in London, and around rivers in cities and towns around the UK and overseas, bringing people together around rivers and public spaces.

Since 1997, the Trust has delivered Totally Thames festival, an annual festival running throughout the whole of September, which acts as the cultural voice of the River Thames. The festival brings together artists and communities to celebrate its ecology and vibrancy, running along the whole 43 miles of London riverfront.
Over half of the Trust's portfolio is dedicated to education. This work takes place at primary and secondary school level in London and with partner organisations in locations around the UK and overseas.

The Trust’s heritage programme, now in its 10th year, has recently focused on providing pathways for young people into the heritage sector using mudlark finds as source material.

All of the Trust’s work combines environmental engagement, creative excellence and community connection.
